Following Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection, Peter decided to go back to fishing and six other disciples went with him. They fished all night, catching nothing. On their return to the shore of the Sea of Galilee, they saw Christ standing at the shore. He asked them, “Children have ye any meat?” Their answer was “no.” He instructed them to cast their net on the right side of the boat. The result filled the net with 153 fish, an obvious miracle. They recognized that this was their risen Lord.
Following a meal Christ had prepared, He had a personal interview with Peter that may not have been very private. Christ asked him, “Simon son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?” This question was more than just about the fish. It is one that we all must answer. Do we love Christ more than anything else in the world. If we do, Christ’s directive to Peter applies to us, “Feed my sheep.” This work explores the Godly guidance that will help us to meet the Savior’s instruction and complete the work we have been given to do with our earthly missions.
